Gabion basket also named gabion box, is weaved by corrosion resistance, high strength and good ductility galvanized wire or PVC coating wire through mechanical. Wire’s material is zinc-5% aluminum alloy (galfan), low carbon steel, stainless steel or iron. Gabion mattress is similar to gabion basket. But gabion mattress’s height is lower than gabion basket, structure is flat and big. Gabion basket and gabion mattress are stone containers, uniformly partitioned into internal cells, interconnected with other containers and filled with stone at site to form flexible, permeable, monolithic structures to control and guide water or flood, protect dam or seawall, or used as retaining walls, channel lining and other applications.

Material

(1)Galvanized low carbon steel wire, 2.0 mm to 4.0 mm in diameter, the tensile strength of steel wire shall not be less than 380 mpa, hot galvanizing protection on the surface of the steel wire, galvanized the thickness of the protective layer of production according to customer requirements, up to a maximum of 300 g/m2 galvanized quantity.
(2) aluminum zinc – 5% – mixed rare earth alloy wire: (also called gore van) wire, this is a kind of international emerging in recent years a new kind of a kind of new material, corrosion resistance is three times bigger than the traditional pure galvanized, steel wire can be up to 1.0 mm to 1.0 mm in diameter, the tensile strength of steel not less than 1380 mpa.
(3) galvanized steel wire includes: high quality low carbon steel wire, a layer of PVC protective coating on the surface of the steel wire, and then woven into various specifications of hexagonal net.This layer of PVC protection will greatly increase the protection of the high pollution environment, and make it integrate with the surrounding environment through the selection of different colors.

Installation Process

1. Ends,diaphragms,front and back panels are placed upright on the bottom section of wire mesh
2. Secure panels by screwing sprial binders through the mesh openings in adjacent panels
3. Stiffeners shall be placed across the corners, at 300mm from the corner. Providing a diagonal bracing,and crimped
4. Box gabion filled with graded stone by hand or with a shovel.
5. After filling,close the lid and secure with sprial binders at the diaphragms,ends,front and back.
6. When stacking tiers of the weled gabion,the lid of the lower tier may serve as base of the upper tier.Secure with sprial binders and add pre-formed stiffeners to exterior cells before filling with graded stones.
